Fragrance

Fragrance has played a significant role in history as far back as King Menes, somtime around 3,100B.C (recorded history anyway). Fragrance has even made history. Cleopatra used scents to attract and influence the Greeks and Romans, The Queen of Shebaused perfumes to suduce King Solomon Napoleon was known to have used more than sixty botles of perfume each month.

There are different notes in perfume the same as there are in music. Septimus Piesse, a French chemist and perfumer, came up with the idea of combining perfumes into harmonies according to the scale. Example of the scale: A is lavender, B, peppermint, C, citronella, ect. ect.

All fragrances' fall in to six basic scent groups.

Floral- Rose, Frangipani, Jasmine, Violet, Lilac
Spice- Cinnamon, Ginger, Cloves, Allspice
Wood- Pine, Cedar, Sandlewood
Fruit- Lemon, Orange, Peach, Coconut
Herbal- Lavender, Chamomile, Sage, Bay
